‘The Bluebell Wood I' by Claire Leach is an original ink drawing, made on smooth hot pressed Daler Rowney watercolour paper measuring 10.5cm x 7.5cm. The drawing has been signed, titled and dated on the reverse.

The drawing was made with ink and brush, through a process of layering diluted ink, scrubbing it away with water, allowing to dry and repeating several times before adding details with concentrated ink and a super fine brush. This process allows for organic marks to be made and creates atmosphere within the work. The drawing is purposefully small, reminiscent of a collectible card with rounded corners - the intimacy of scale draws the viewer in. 

Exhibited as part of Blue Shop Gallery’s Works on Paper 7.
